LA MORENA, celebrates its 50th anniversary, basing its successes and growth on a constant development of values, hard-work, innovation and it’s people.
The company is headquarter in Puebla and started on October 27, 1970, with the clear vision of Mr. Félix Ayala Ávila. He offered the market quality canned products with the traditional recipe of Mexican food.
The success of La Morena is based on firm principles of commitment, responsibility and honesty both with its clients, as well as with employees and suppliers. In these fifty years, La Morena has consolidated its values of person, work, quality and competitiveness, adding passion, entrepreneurship, motivation, perseverance, leadership and experience, through a collaborative, supportive and flexible team, which has led to expand its presence beyond Mexico and the US and now into the global market.
Currently, La Morena has an extensive portfolio of more than forty different products, among which the whole jalapeño peppers, the marinated chipotle peppers and the green jalapeño peppers stand out, emblematic products that have delighted the palate of consumers world wide.
Today La Morena is the second selling brand in the canned chili category in Mexico, (third in the US) processing more than 22,000 tons of green chilies, 1,500 tons of chipotle and producing more than six million boxes annually.
Two strategic areas have given impetus to the brand in these fifty years: first, the consolidation of a professional commercial team, second, establishing the appropriate commercial partners in the different marketing channels such as large self-service chains, large wholesalers, specialized distributors and international distributors, which have led to having a presence in more than four thousand self-service stores and three hundred thousand points of sale such as wholesale stores, and small shops adding up to twenty countries where the brand reaches among which stand out; United States, Holland, Canada and Germany.
In the US alone, the brand is distributed in over 25,000 different grocery stores nationally. You can find La Morena products everywhere from your small neighborhood Hispanic bodega to national grocery chains like Walmart, Kroger, and Shoprite in the US. It is also well loved and used by chefs all around the country in the US as well.
Throughout its history, La Morena has stood out for being a company that provides work, currently one thousand six hundred and twenty-six employees are part of this great company in two production plants; plant one in Lara Grajales, Puebla, plant two in Huamantla, Tlaxcala and a corporate office in the city of Puebla.
Through sustained growth, La Morena celebrates its first fifty years, with the aim of continuing to satisfy the needs of consumers through food products with home seasoning and traditional recipes, providing work and bringing the best of culture culinary from Mexico to the world.
